The intent of this section is to provide links that may be useful to nonprofit organizations, service providers, and community stakeholders as these resources become available. Please note that within each section of this website, you will find useful links specific to each program that is addressed. This page is intended to be a more broad set of community resources. New Mexico Human Services Department: http://www.hsd.state.nm.us/

  • The Human Services Department administers such programs as Medicaid, TANF, Food Stamps, and Child Support Enforcement Services, among others.

Central New Mexico Community College, Achievement Coaches: http://www.cnm.edu/depts/eca/AchievementCoach.php

  • Achievement coaches at CNM help students succeed by eliminating barriers to higher education and building on student strengths. Achievement coaches help students with time management, budgeting, securing financial aid, study skills, and can also provide referrals to community resources for help with issues such as child care, housing, and emergency food and clothing, among others.

  • Contains a listing of food resources in New Mexico, including the SNAP (Food Stamp) program, WIC offices, Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), Share New Mexico, soup kitchens, food pantries, hot meals for senior citizens, home gardening, farmer's markets, summer lunch program, and school lunch programs. Also included is a list of school-based health centers and contact information. The directory is provided in both English and Spanish.

  • United Way of Central New Mexico has put together a list of resources designed to help everyone from babies through senior citizens. This comprehensive list has addresses, phone numbers, and a map to the location that specializes in the services that you may need.

  • The New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department provides information about social service providers for health care, transportation, assisted living, independent living centers, legal services, and more.

  • A listing of local resources and service providers for a variety of programs, such as health, social services, education, legal services, transportation, and community centers managed by the Bernalillo County Community Health Council, Southwest Creations Collaborative, and the Sandoval County Community Health Alliance.

  • A statewide catalog of programs available to juveniles in need of services; maintained by the New Mexico Sentencing Commission.

Community Action New Mexico: http://www.communityactionnewmexico.org/

  • Provides services and advocacy throughout the state surrounding such issues as the economy, financial literacy and asset-building, education, housing, and community development.

New Mexico Voices for Children: http://www.nmvoices.org/

  • A nonpartisan organization that advocates to improve the health and well-being of children, families, and communities in New Mexico.

New Mexico Disabilities Portal: http://www.nmdisabilityportal.com/

  • A site to connect New Mexicans with disabilities to resources to meet their individual needs; maintained by the Governor's Commission on Disability with funding from the Cody Unser Foundation and the New Mexico State Legislature.

GovBenefits.gov: http://www.govbenefits.gov/govbenefits_en.portal

  • The U.S. government provides information about all federal benefits on this site. Over 1,000 benefits and assistance programs are listed. This includes information such as living assistance, child care, tax assistance, disability benefits, and much more. A useful eligibility checklist is included.
