  • GENERAL ELIGIBILITY

  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a cash assistance program for people who are 65 or older, or for people of any age, including children, who are disabled or blind. To be eligible, you must be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen.

  • FINANCIAL ELIGIBILITY

SSI is for people with limited income and resources. An individual may have up to $2000 in resources (cash, savings, etc.), and a married couple up to $3000. Some resources such as your home are not counted. The higher your income, the lower your SSI benefits will be.
