  2. Federal Mortgage Insurance Programs: An official web site about federal mortgage insurance from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
  3. Habitat for Humanity International: Official web site of this international organization whose goal is to eliminate poverty housing. Includes links to local Habitat web sites, which give information for families who want to buy a Habitat home and for community members who want to volunteer for this program.
  4. Homebuyer Education Tutorial by Freddie Mac: An excellent easy-to-understand guide to buying your first home, including sections on deciding if you are ready for homeownership, learning about credit, understanding mortgages, and finding a home you can afford.
